Sunday.

I got a call from Marc as I was looking up some stuff on Age Of Empires, and he wanted to know if I was interested in going shopping with him. I usually loathe shopping, but I decided to tag along with him and Carey as he bought his new winter coat. Turns out he got it on discount, but shopping at Lotte is very expensive. I walked around the store after they left, since I wasn't entirely in a rush to go back to my place and be bored, so I priced a few items.

The best way to picture it: Imagine a Best Buy but with more salesclerks, but then add in boredom of patrolling the same 20 square feet, a foreign language, and less cool gear. That's why I don't like shopping here. Since Korean Department stores feel the need to assign one person to help you literally, say, every 10 or 20 feet, the people there always seem to be following you around, asking you if you need help. Now, I don't mind a polite salesperson, but I really get put off when then try to help me as I am looking at a clothing rack or something. I think "flipping through some clothes" is a task that can be undertaken without serious help.

One another note, I actually busted out the Audio Tapes to my Korean book series and started studying again tonight. Basic reading stuff so far, but I want to learn enough Korean to be more functional and so I can tell people what I need and what prices are when they are spoken to me. The "How much is it?" thing has been the toughest thing so far.
