Monday Morning is when the freaks come out.
Since we are having a Birthday Party on Wednesday for the kids downstairs, and it corresponds with Halloween, we are going to have a party with the Hogwon kids too later in the day. The whole day is going to be a party with candy, masks, kids shouting "Trick or Treat". Basically, almost like home, and I can't wait to see it.
I went to each of my hogwon classes and was teaching them Halloween things like Ghost, Mummy ( I even learned the Korean word), Witch, and Vampire (Dracula is what they knew, a travesty to this Buffy fan.) Upstairs is decorated in pumpkin pictures, ghost drawings and the occasional "Bleeding Korean Ghost Lady".
Appearantly from what I have been able to put together from the kids, there was this lady would didn't get married, so when she died, she became a ghost. All the kids draw this ghost with her eyes and mouth dripping blood. It was creeping me out to see this image being drawn by a 7 year old girl, but I guess they drill the whole "gotta get married" thing in pretty early. Not surprisingly, there is no male counterpart to this legend. This is a male dominated culture thanks to Confusionism, that's for sure.
I am also going on a train trip out to an apple orchard, and I am looking forward to that on Friday. Looks like this week should be easy. That's a refreshing change, but I think I still have to fill out some report cards. Damn.
