Watch out for Road Rage and Falling Prices.

Marc, Carey and I left during lunch to go to the Daewoo dealership so they could pick out a car. We told the taxi driver to drop us off at the nearest side street, and we were getting out of the cab and paying, we heard a horn honking. They have these REALLY annoying horns here, that sound somewhat like a simulated Doppler effect that are extremely loud then sort of fade out. The person that was honking was very upset, and honked a second time. He then started shouting profanities at the taxi cab driver. The taxi driver yelled some back and then started to drive off. The guy that honked raced after him. We were like "What the hell is that guys problem. We were just paying for the cab."

The pissed off honking guy got out of his car, and the Taxi driver did too, and they started jostling each other in the street. The taxi driver was a lot larger than the other guy, so he pulled the honking guy over into an alley as we happened to walk by. The Taxi driver clearly didn't want to fight, but the other guy wasn't backing down. Marc went up to both of them and separated them while I stared down the honking guy. I don't know if he thought we were all going to kick his ass, or he finally decided he wasn't going to fight, but he eventually got in his car and drove away.

The posturing and pushing reminded me of a fight in Junior High, where people wanted to make a scene and say they got in a fight, but all they really did was curse at each other and maybe pushed each other into a locker. I mean, if you are going to be in someone's face screaming profanities, the time for restraint has passed, no?

After that incident, we went to a dive of a Korean restaraunt (which is putting it politely.) I happened to walk in with Carey and sit down as Marc was answering a Phone call outside or something, and I got the evil eye from all the men in the room. They were also staring whenever we talked in English. Overall, I think Koreans like America the country, but are on the fence about actual Americans. This is mostly evident with the older set. The reason for this is because Americans have gotten a bad reputation for leaving Korean women with children and leaving the country. (Boooo!! American Soliders) That whole "stealing Korean women" thing is total crap, in my opinion, because if Korean men would drop some of the Confusion attitudes that allow men to treat women like crap here, no one would have to be threatened by Westerners that treat women better for the most part.

Marc and Carey decided on a car. Not all that exciting for me to witness, but basically the process is the same here as in America. They are getting a silver "Nubria 2" I think.

After class, I was bored, so I decided to go to WalMart. Yeah, that's right. "Making the world safe for American Capitalism" my ass, WalMart's already here! I got there with a no problems after I was told what neighborhood it was in, and I even took a few pictures too. I have to say, WalMart was a MAJOR disappointment. It was basically a lame warehouse grocery store. I purchased some supplies that I needed, and came back home disappointed.
