Around Town.
I recieved a call this morning from Marc and Carey asking if I wanted to go out to eat in Kurt's new area of town. Since I hadn't been to the area, and hadn't seen Kurt for a while, and frankly didn't have anything else to do all day, I agreed.
We rode out and picked Kurt up, and went looking for the scenic Dunsan Dam. We got lost along the way and saw the most inappropriate thing ever put on the side of a church, ever. (In the next Photo set for sure) We ended up eating at the fantastic Korean restaurant that served traditional dishes. If this is the traditional stuff, I want to know what the hell I have been eating because I was really satisfied with the food.
After we got a rough idea where we needed to go, we headed out for the dam. The dam experience I would describe as kind of like "Um, ok, so there it is. I'll take a picture. Now what?" After complaining that I "took all the dam pictures I wanted to take" we hopped back in the car and drove back to Daejon. While Carey spent time with her father, Marc, Kurt and I ended up playing some Age of Empires, and killed some time. Marc eventually went over to pick Carey back up, and Kurt and I visited Iris who happened to be doing her job in Lotte Department store. Iris is one of the "Nesquick" girls that sells chocolate in the supermarkets around town. After she got off work, we headed over to Marc's with the intention of going to out to eat, but ended up ordering Dominos pizza and watching Pearl Harbor.
Ugh, does that movie ever suck. I was a little relentless in my heckling, as I can't stand Brockheimer, Affleck, Cuba...well, nearly every one except Dan Aykroyd, who is giving Harold Ramis a run for the "Worst looking former Ghostbuster cast member" award.
I walked out about half way through, I think, except how do you measure half of "eternity", which seemed to be how long the movie was taking to show anything of interest. After saying my goodbyes of a sort, I walked to my home with Marc who needed to use the school computer to print out a letter. I don't expect Marc to teach tomorrow because I think he is intent on making it his last day. Should be a sight to witness half the school walk out when they hear that news.
Oh boy, the month of December is going to be so much fun!
