"Who you calling a Ho, Santa?"

"You can fool all of the people some of the time, those are the ones you should concentrate on."

That was my philosophy for today, being the South Korea's tallest, thinnest Santa Claus. I donned my mothball reeking costume and prepared to mauled by children. The majority of the children were simply wondering why I was wearing a Christmas costume, but others were either gullible or willing to suspend their disbelief to think I was actually Santa while I wore the costume.

I tried not to destroy the illusion the best I could. My outfit gradually evolved to even include a pillow to hide the fact that Santa lost a few hundred pounds since they last saw him last year. I did my best not to answer when someone called my name, and only to address people calling me "Santa." I enjoyed myself, but I don't plan on putting on a costume for any other holidays we might celebrate here for a long time. I was also disappointed by the lack of hot female elven helpers today. Can't win them all.

After taking pictures and handing out presents, I eventually got to take off my costume and run around telling the children about how I heard Santa on the roof as he was leaving. If they bought that, I deserve an Oscar.

I eventually got put on tech duty, having to burn a CD for one of the teachers with the song "Bingo" on it because she had to borrow my Mp3 player to use during the assembly. After I finished with that, I got sidetracked and tuned into Woxy.com. It turned out that one of my friends who is a DJ there had a show on and made a shout out for all the weird requests he could handle. I sent him an message telling him who I was, where I was, and the bizzare song I wanted (Whale- Homo Humping Slobo Babe, if you must know). He gave me a shout out on air and even mentioned me being in South Korea. Badass.

Speaking of shout outs, I'll be giving one to Antwon, as he replied to an email I sent him about the free "Antwon.com" bumperstickers he is offering. He responded about my plugging my site in the email by saying:

Yup, yup - so I've seen and read from time to time. You have the benefit of having a topic to blog about that's inherently interesting; it's *neat* seeing you steeped in a foreign culture, acclimating to
this and that, feeling hopelessly out of sync about the other thing. I enjoy that "culture shear" sort of stuff, anyway.

Wow, Antwon has read my site, and he thinks it's neat. Seeing as how I read his site religiously, I can only say, "Cool."

With all this happening, I have to say the coolest part of the day has to be the fact that it's now snowing, actually making it feel very much like Christmas, even though it's still a few days away.
