This is starting to get sad.

Last night, Samantha, Panda, Rabbit and Lion teachers, and Lion teacher's boyfriend all went out with me to celebrate the New Year. Rabbit teacher treated at a dae-ge-gal-bi place that I'd never been to. I had the intention of going out and dancing, so I started hitting the soju harder than everyone else to get myself in fine dancing condition. I sort of realized that no one else was drinking to keep up, but somehow ended up drinking my last shot out of a bottle that was freshly opened and that I couldn't finish.

Rather than take that soju bottle with me (like when I got sick after drinking dong-dong-ju) I decided I would find a table drinking and give them my bottle for free. I found a table full of 20ish year old Koreans and approached the table on a dare from the Korean teachers, who didn't either realize I was a little drunk, or didn't realize it's not a big deal for me to make a big scene here because I don't embarrass easily and I don't know what is being said to be embarrassed about. I gave the person at the head of the table my bottle of soju politely with two hands and said "Have a happy New Year." My table of teachers applauded and laughed so loud the entire restaurant, waiters and all, stopped to look at this drunk American sitting back down. The table I gave the bottle to was a little shocked and confused, but I kept waving to them as they examined the bottle like "It's Ok, drink it." I was thanked by them as I walked out too.

Next we went to a downtown district I don't know very well. We ended up at a coffee bar that served Western style drinks as well. Since I was under the impression we were still going dancing, I ordered a "Long Island Ice Tea", a drink with some sort of mystical ability to mess me up royal. That mystical ability probably involves something known as "alcohol content". I also drank a Gin and Tonic while we munched on ice cream cake.

I actually ended up ringing out the New Year in a taxi as we were headed home. I was drunk this morning when I woke up, and took my hangover cure ( V8 and two Asprin ). I walked to Lotte trying to buy the "Lord of the Rings" but it was sold out, and it might be sold out days in advance. Damn. I'll have to go earlier next time or buy my ticket a day in advance like Samantha did.

I ended up meeting with a Canadian couple and talked to them for 2 hours in a coffee bar about several funny experiences and what their opinions of the country is. Later I ended up running into Carey and her friend Jane. We watched a movie (Finding Forrester) and then went downtown and sat in a coffee shop and talked for 3 hours. I was very chatty today.

I ran home and posted something before it struck midnight, so I would continue my posting streak. That is just sad. >=0(
