Lotteria has the rather dubious distinction of being even lower on the food chain than McDonalds in my opinion of "edible" fast food. Considering I am of the opinion that McDonalds might not be technically food, you get an idea about how foul some of the Lotteria burgers can be at times. While all fast food generally is bad, Lotteria is simply the king of bad burgers. Nothing on the "revolting concept" scale in recent memory has beaten the "Wellbeing Life Meal" from Lotteria however. For those of you not able to decipher the insanity of the particular "sandwich festival", let me give a brief rundown of what I know is on this "burger". The list of ingredients include beef, lettuce, and something akin to thousand island sauce, in that it's vaguely "milky orange" in color. Nothing surprising, as that's also on a basic Big Mac. But Lotteria seeks to "one up" the Big Mac by adding a few other surprises. Your eyes do not deceive you when you notice the peas that seem to be featured heavily in the advertisement. There are green peas cooked whole into the meat. Also, that pineapple isn't just for decoration, it's on the burger too, along with some thing red, which may or may not be ketchup. All of this "Wellbeing" is being served up on a wheat bun, of course, for whatever reason. The reason I speak with dread about this particular burger is this: I actually ate it. Eating this was like dropping a small brick in my stomach. The combination of peas and pineapple with the dripping ketchup like sauce, combining with the somewhat soggy wheat bread was a healthy reminder why I don't go to Lotteria very often. It just screamed "perversion of things good and decent" in a way that food shouldn't. I sometimes get bizarre urges that compel me to torture myself for the amusement of others, even if it is in a virtual setting. I hope you appreciate the fact that I now know why man was never meant to put green peas in a burger patty in any shape or form. The worst thing is, this "thing" wasn't even all that bad for Lotteria standards. |
