Hanging out with the daughter.
Korean life, Parenting, Tech November 17th. 2009, 8:27pmThis morning the regularly scheduled vaccination schedule of my daughter prevented us from sleeping in. If you don’t get to the hospital early you’ll be surrounded by sick children. My wife, and everyone else at the children’s hospital by all appearances, were skittish about being there.
Whenever anyone would cough or sneeze, a sort of dramatic “Mexican Standoff” scene would arise. People would all try to find equidistant points away from each other and would try to keep their eyes on everyone in the room. “Did you sneeze? Don’t get too close! I’ll sneeze! I’ll do it! I really will! I’ll cough in your face! Don’t even try to sit on this waiting room couch with me.”
Eventually we got her shots taken care off. We went home and I got to hang out with Glow while my wife was off to return some items at Costco. Since Glow as recovering from her jabs, she didn’t have a lot of fight in her. When she hit nap time, she and I both were asleep. We took a nice little nap together until my wife returned with food and supplies to make it through another week.
I had to run a few errands, then headed to work. Tomorrow I am busy all day, so I won’t get to hang out with her at all. My computer is broken, so I’ll have to spend more time tomorrow getting it fixed with my brother in law, if he can diagnose the problem. That’s on top of my brutal day at work that eats up all of my free time and energy.
I’m glad I got a little rest today, because next week is another round of shots and the semester is really picking up in intensity.
