Perhaps you have a massive ego and stroke it gently by playing sadistic mindgames with children.

This is true.

Or else you’ve succumbed to the power-hungry madness plaguing teacher’s worldwide who derive perverse pleasure from the suffering of children.

All true.

Kids’ tears quench the fire in your subconscious that seeks revenge for every wrong to befall you in your short, pathetic life.

Not so much...yet. Give me a few more years for me to turn bitter about how things "should have been along the way".

I mostly do it because it's my job to give lots of homework. I realize how badly these children have it, but it's not my place to do anything about it. It's what they pay for, and what they expect. I'm simply fulfilling a role. If it wasn't me, it'd be someone else giving them too much work.

It's not a good class until students moan about how much work you give them when you leave the class. Anything less means I'm not giving the parents enough study time for their money.

"Yeah, I’m going to make something up about a student…why?"

Or not.

Yeah, I didn't know the second word on that list so I quit. Too hard :)

I've got to say that when it comes to vocabulary I would consider myself to be up there in the top few % but there are a couple of words in your list that I've never even come across. If someone can live 30 years, read the number of books I have and have the level of education that I have and not come across these words then as far as I am concerned it is not essential vocab...
