Your dad carries a notebook all the time too. He has a small one that can fit in this back pocket and it has a little pen in the case for easy access. I find him writing notes all the time. I accused him of getting old-using the notes to remember stuff! But I have always had to write "lists" to remember great ideas or things I need to pick up at the store. Never thought of that as a way to keep my ideas organized. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable speaking all the ideas out loud. Working some things out on paper works better for me. That's the angle I'd like to try, I think it would be easier to "dictate" ideas for later use than writing them down in a notebook.
