Torgodevil – you’re very welcome… you mean this is fiction? Oh my gosh! I think I’d better apologize to someone for killing their dog…

I was running in the woods but it was only starting to get light out. Without my glasses things were still a bit fuzzy. Anyway, I was getting a bit winded when I saw a dog on the path in front of me. I smiled and said hello, wondering where its owner was (I like dogs!) when the $%#@! thing tried to bite me! It didn’t even growl, it just moaned with its eyes rolled up in its sockets. I’ve never heard anything so scary. So… I kicked it – hard – in the head. I’m pretty sure I killed it, but assumed I’d only incapacitated a zombie hound.

How do you explain to someone you killed their dog because you thought it was undead?
