Is Lost a Rerun?

Lost jumped the shark with the umpteenth “Charlie is a huge dick” episode. The one where he was like, “What, all I want to do is DROWN the baby. Okay, well, baptise it without asking the mother. Yes, I was a drug addict. I’m not crazy! Listen to me! Drowning a baby for a religious reason is okay! I’m willing to let everyone that helps keep the baby safe from the Others die in a fire to baptise a baby! Don’t JUDGE ME!”

Least likeable character in a drama EVER. I grind my teeth when that guy opens his mouth. Seriously, is there a MINUTE in the guy’s past they haven’t show where he isn’t a selfish prick?

Also: Walt and Walt-Dad Michael…I DON’T CARE. All Walt-Dad says is “Where’s Walt? I want to find Walt. Let’s endanger everyone to find Walt?! Okay?” Also, Jack, Kate, Sawyer…Yawn. Which grizzled muscled man will she choose? Yawn. SHE CAN’T ACT.

The hatch has taken the show away from survival into lame drama/mystery land. It’s all grandiose self-indulgent mystery. Red herrings. Nothing gets resolved. Nothing really happens. Nothing is explained. There is no way all the stupid loose ends will ever be resolved. It’s JJ Abrams. I watched Alias. Same thing here.

They needed to add Tail characters because they ran out of flashbacks to do with the other characters. The tail characters were okay, except they were exactly the same as the other characters…flawed past that impedes their present action. Flashback after flashback. They run out of stories, add new cast members…etc. For a “deserted” island, how many people have they discovered? I liked it when it was a cast against the elements.

Now it’s just a drama set on a tropical island with a cast of unlikable characters.

By contrast, I watch Battestar Galactica standing up and pacing the room during commericals because I’m so jazzed by the episode’s plotline. Not many shows get me that excited.
