My wife and I decided to go shopping at Savezone, a local discount department store. We decided to go their by bicycle to get some exercise. We need it. We peeled our bicycles off the stairs to the apartment, oiled parts and inflated others, and quickly were off to spend some hard earned cash!

We got the department store 2.5 kilometers away with no major problems. My wife’s not an expert rider, so she almost got taken out by two different cars as she crossed different crosswalks. This is about average for her when we go somewhere.

We each picked out something to buy, then wrapped our purchases, stuffed them in a backpack and started to head back home. On the way, my wife insisted on stopping at a grocery store we almost never enter. It’s near where I work, so I occasionally go in for dinner at one of their restaurants between classes, but I never shop for groceries there.

We found several deals on cheap fruits and vegetables and stocked up. We even got some decent wine. We stopped in because we needed some large cups. I broke one last week and we needed a new set. Our local grocery store didn’t stock anything of the kind, thus explaining out stop.

Even though we had some difficult to carry glassware, we were still prepared for our trip home. We intentionally tried to keep out of the dairy aisle even though we needed milk due to the weight. By the end, we had enough stuff poking out of pockets and hanging out of a bike basket to make the ride back to our apartment troubling and a bit dangerous. Nothing or no one got crunched on pavement before we returned, so it was a success.

After that, I finished up another chapter of my short story, had a brief chat on Skype with my mother about some European Vacation plans, and got ready for classes tomorrow. Time to go back to the grind after a busy weekend.
